Football Clinics – Via our partnership with Link Community School in Newark and the New York Football Giants, we provide a football clinic for Newark youth at the Giants practice facility. Children learn football skills and hear “chalk talks” from players on the Giants about the importance of living lives of character.

Speaking Engagements – On occasion, Athletes in Action partners with a local organization (men’s group, church youth group, civic group) which hosts an athlete or coach at one of their meetings. These programs usually include an AIA staff member describing the team chapel ministry, a question and answer time with the athlete/coach, and the athlete/coach telling his story.

Pro Challenge Outreaches – Athletes In Action will sometimes partner with a local high school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter and conduct a Pro Challenge in the gym of that high school. Five to seven NY Giants players compete against the best athletes from that high school in gym activities (volleyball, relay races, basketball, etc.) in front of a gathered audience from the local community. In between the activities, a different Giants player will share a short version of his story that includes the difference that his relationship with God makes in his life.

Youth Golf Program – Each spring, AIA partners with PlaySmart and the Linc Community School and trains 15-17 boys over a 6 week period in character and life skill areas through the game of golf. Conducted at the Golf Club at Chelsea Piers (in lower Manhattan ), mentors take the boys through sessions on topics such as attentiveness, loyalty, honesty, and diligence. Golf applications (such as recording an accurate score during the putting contest) are used to drive these points home.

Ironman of Golf – This isn't your father's golf outing. Athletes in Action, for twelve years, has sponsored an "all day" golf event that has challenged avid golfers and raised some needed funds for its local chapter. Held in June, the Ironman of Golf features three eighteen hole tournaments on three courses. Golfers tee off at 5:30am, then again at 10:30am, and then again at 3:30pm. For the first ten years, the event was held at the Crystal Springs Golf Resort in Sussex County, NJ. Last year, the outing was held at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, NJ. For the less ambitious, AIA has added an "Ironman Lite" ("less filling, but same great taste") to the menu (36 holes).
